By Monday morning, July 20th, staff should be able to access E-mail via a new web portal by launching a web browser of choice and navigating to the following: https://login.microsoftonline.com/
Accessing your E-mail: Directions for accessing your mail via the web portal can be found in the following document: Office 365 Email Instructions
On Monday (July 20) and Tuesday (July 21), Network Services staff will be visiting workstations in the Bremerton and Port Angeles Offices and the Juvenile Detention Centers to set up the Microsoft Outlook client software on desktop and laptop computers. Setup of outstation sites like Head Start and laptops of mobile users will follow as access to those machines permits.
New E-mail Address: Once conversion is completed, staff will have new E-mail addresses, which is firstname.lastname@example.org. Your username remains the same. Items sent to the old oesd.wednet.edu E-mail address will continue to be delivered for an indefinite period of time, but all new E-mails created will originate from the new address.
Prior to Friday evening’s conversion, it would be very helpful if staff could clean up any unneeded items in their E-mail in-box, particularly items in “Deleted Items”. Keep in mind that all mail items converted to the new system, as well as subsequent items received, sent, and deleted, will be kept by the new system in a permanent archive for possible future retrieval.
During conversion, E-mail may be available, but it would be best to refrain from using E-mail starting Friday evening, July 17 until Monday morning, July 20.
After the conversion, it is important to remember that while awaiting setup of your Outlook client, the web portal is always available for checking mail. When in doubt, access mail via the web portal. A link to the portal will be placed on the OESD web site, along with these directions.
Difficulty accessing the web portal or logging in? Please call Network Services for assistance at 405-5815.
Mobile device users (phones, tablets) will need to set up their E-mail anew come Monday by deleting their existing OESD mail account and re-adding it using the new E-mail address. For Android and Apple iOS devices, this may be done on the native E-mail client of the device, or staff may download an app that is specific to Office 365. See the instructions below:
Android or Tablet: Here are directions for setting up the new Office 365 E-mail on an Android phone or tablet. Page down to "set up work or school email accounts that use Office 365". Be sure to enter the new oesd114.org address, not the old oesd.wednet.edu address.
